Impromptu trip to Hong Kong Disney for a chill day without all the cruise passengers and holiday traffic. Great first full day in Hong Kong.

Chill Morning
We were having a chill morning with Aunt and Uncle when another one of my mom’s brothers asked if we wanted to have dinner tomorrow. I was originally planning to go to Disney tomorrow, but was flexible and said I can go today, and we can do dinner tomorrow instead.
Checked in and watched the highlights form the USMNT Gold Cup Final match and was amused to find that Google had themed the results page as well.
After breakfast, I started to mosey my way toward going to Disney (no rush, just a real chill day at Disney anyway).
Disney
Enjoyed my trip to HK Disney last time I was here a couple years ago, and wanted to go back for some ulterior motivations as well to turn some pages. I ended up getting to the park a little later around noon (park opened at 10am), and was pleasantly surprised to find the park VERY empty.
Around the Front of the Park
Really nice to wander with so much less people in a park, really just ended up going with the flow and wherever I could find sights and some fun new merch (of course).
Parade!
As I was about to head deeper into the park, I saw that the parade was about to start, so squatted for a bit to catch the parade. It was fun, but also one of the shortest (kinda pathetic) parades I’ve ever seen at a Disney.
At least I got to see my Winnie the Pooh fam.
World of Frozen
After the parade, I wandered over to the new World of Frozen (new to me at least).
THEY HAVE SNOWGIES. I’ve been looking for these for YEARS, wondering why they hadn’t made any, but they’re exclusive here!
Around the Park
Just as I was wandering, saw a bunch of familiar (and no so familiar) sights.
Lotso Merch
LOTSO! EVERYWHERE. He’s rightfully the star here in asia, and they treat him well. So much lotso merch, my heart is very full.
Poor lotso just needs some therapy for PTSD and abandonment.
Food
After doing a whole loop of the park in about 4 hours, I had perused all the food options and ended up getting some pork ramen. So good, and fascinating to watch them work to mass produce and assembly line the food.
Exiting the Park
Walked around a bunch more and rode a couple rides. Ant man was a most excellent ride. Fantasmic was the same but lacking the the new CoCo addition, and Hyperspace Mountain was as fun as I remembered…love me some Star Wars.
Was debating whether tonstay for fireworks but it was another 3 hours away, and I was a little tired from the heat and all the travel, so decided to head back and meet up for dinner outside the park.
Back to the Apartment
As the Uber got back to the apartment, I looked up and saw the sunset setting over some islands in the distance, absolutely stunning views.
Dinner
Got a decent dinner with Aunt and Uncle when I got back and we went to grab a bite. True to form, as good (or bad?) asians, I was amused to see one bite from each plate left at the end of dinner. No one wanted to deprive each other of the last bite if they wanted it (don’t worry, all the food got devoured after a bunch of posturing).
