Back in Auckland, and a half day driving around before getting to the AirBnB to settle in for the night in preparation for the race tomorrow.

Remaining Flights
Arrived in Sydney around 5AM, and then set out for another flight to New Zealand, landing around 12:30PM. With all the timezone changes and travel time, It had been about a day of travel in total.
Got my bags, rental car and headed out to find the car which took a fair bit of time to walk from the terminal to the actual garage to get the car.
Thankfully, I’d been in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia for so long, I’ve gotten kind of used to driving on this side of the car now and this side of the road.
Hanua Falls
This time, I headed south, toward my AirBnB, but looked at the map and headed toward Hanua Falls for a quick stop.
View from Foot Bridge
Awesome view right away as I started down the path, and saw an awesome reflection of the water right down the path, and some nice leading lines right to the falls.
Views from the Falls
Path went right to the falls and got to see them up close after a quick 5 minute walk down the path.
View from Overlook
Took a nice 15 minute walk up the trail to the overlook to see an overhead view of the falls from up top as well.
Back to the Foot Bridge
Went back to the foot bridge, and changed lenses to get photos with the right zoom (switched to the 70-200 lens instead of the 200-600).
Close Up on Other Side of Lake
Went to the other side of the lake that didn’t need to go back into the trail to find a nice little picture frame supported by locals. Sat there for a bit too just. listening to the water and taking it all in. It wasn’t the most clear day, but it was lovely weather temperature wise and enjoyed time at the falls before heading out.
Travel to Hamilton
Headed back out and made the hour or so drive down to Hamilton. On the way, I stopped at a gas station to find some gas station sushi since some of the folks on the ship were all meeting up to get Izumi and get some good sushi. Even though it was gas station sushi, it was actually quite delicious.
Made it to the AirBnB and the lovely garden cottage that was right outside of the town (less than 5 minutes). Settled in for the evening and caught up on some photos from the day, and starting to get caught up on all the photos from the last couple weeks.
