Chill day with some last minute island hopping, then heading to Australia for the next country on the tour.
Heading Out
Woke up and headed to a last minute island cruise that I had booked the night before on a whim. Got to the dock, and found that it was a pretty small, really nice little boat fo about 20ish people. We got on the boat and headed out and visited a couple islands for some hikes, and some time to do some water activities (snorkeling, paddleboarding, etc.). I debated, but the water was super nice (for me….a little cold for other people). Ended up going out and doing a little bit of snorkeling and just enjoying the cool water out there.
Motuarohia Island
First island was Motuarohia and we had about 20 minutes to do a quick hike up to a lookout. I stayed on the beach for a bit to see all the beach (and some birdlife) without all the people, then went up and caught the views before getting back down for the ship. It started pouring a little bit so got some nice clouds rolling in and some rain effects in the shots as well.
Waiwahapuku Bay
Next, we went to Waiwahapuku Bay and did a little mini hike (it goes all the way around the island but would take WAY too long, before turning back and going to do a little bit of snorkeling.
Waterfalls
After the boat tour to the islands, I headed toward the airport, but stopped by a couple waterfalls for a bit to walk around, catch the sites, and do some very light hiking.

Waianiwaniwa (Rainbow Falls)
Flight to Sydney
Next, got to the airport, checked in and found that it was a pretty small regional airport. There was the previous flight getting in and being greeted by some ukelele and song, which was fun, and then we climbed up into the plane and made it to Sydney (eventually).
Pretty uneventful flight, but got to Sydney super late (around midnight) and found the view from the AirBnB to be stunning. Another great day.
