Chill day of more itinerary planning and lovely dinner with Joe at Izumi.
Time is a Flat Circle
We woke up on March 2nd cause we crossed the International Date Line somewhere in the morning (probably around 3am if I had to guess).
Safari Options
Happened to be awake so I went to the safari interest group meeting in the morning but found the itinerary to be too restrictive to what I want to do, so instead I just decided to book my own.
Spent a couple hours doing some research and filling out some lead forms, and hopefully catching an extra safari after Dubai!
Lunch?!
First time eating lunch in the dining room as I knew I had dinner with Joe and wanted to at least catch up with mom and Nate with the new Africa itineraries. Tried the lunch menu and it was pretty good! Had a tomato soup and a strip steak.

Dinner with Joe
Joe was nice enough to invite me to dinner again before I get off the ship for a bit. We went to Izumi and had an awesome dinner (felt much better this time and didn’t get sick so…delicious).
It’s really a great specialty dining option onboard.

The waiter asked me if I was crew or guest and even after I said guest and tried to laugh it off, he doubled down saying I looked like crew. I eventually even took out my cruise card and showed him.
I’ve been asked that more times than I care to admit at this point and even though I’m clearly wearing the goofiest Disney running clothes all the time and carrying a huge camera I get asked all the time cause people can’t believe I’d have paid for a cruise and am enjoying my own mini-retirement. Mostly I try not to let it bother me, but at a minimum it’s very annoying to constantly have to prove I belong (or maybe I don’t…)
All in all a pretty chill day! Nate stopped by after and we finished season 2 of Taskmaster NZ and super ready for NZ!
