A little bittersweet to be leaving camp, but the national park (to be fair), only allows 3 consecutive nights at a time when booking reservations, so that others can camp as well. Made the trek back to Central Maui, making a few stops along the way.

Packing Up
Caught the sunrise as I was packing up, and took about 15 minutes to enjoy and say goodbye to my campsite. Love this space, and would HIGHLY recommend it anytime.

On the way out, snagged a quick couple quick pics as I was driving by the bridge (while continuing to move…cause…rules). The pools are beautiful anytime, but really calm in the morning.

Ke’anae Viewpoint
Stopped at the viewpoint to overlook Ke’anae from above and look at the taro fields for a bit. Bird was fishing in one of the ponds in the morning as well.

Auntie Sandy’s
Stopped for some famous banana bread at Auntie Sandy’s. Also ended up with one of the biggest chili cheese dogs I’ve seen in my life.

Honomanū Bay Overlook
Stopped for a quick bit to overlook another bay on the way back, beautiful, but as you can see as well, the clouds were starting to threaten for some morning showers in the rainforest.

Garden of Eden
Stopped at the Garden of Eden for a bit, because supposedly beautiful, but also just needed a little bit of a break, as it was a long drive since leaving in the morning and was getting a bit tired.
They have a view of one of the waterfalls, as well as the rock in the opening credits of jurassic park.

It started pouring after about 30 minutes, so I ran back for cover, and got some lillies with rain falling, but ended up just taking off to head back to town.

Unfortunately for me (and a ton of people), they were doing some construction as well, so they just blocked all the traffic for about 15 minutes in both directions, so we just sat in all our cars waiting. Finally they let us go, and it was single lane traffic for a while. Glad they’re doing maintenance, but it was eery to be sitting on a dirt road on the side of a mountain in the middle of downpour wondering what was going on. No biggie, eventually made it back.
Picking up Reinforcements
Got a notification that my phone had made it to Maui, so headed over and picked up my replacement phone (thank goodness). Then went to what I thought was a starbucks (but ended up just being a small one in a mall), and sat in the mall using their free Wifi to transfer and set up the new phone. Got a whole bunch of photo editing and transferring done as well.
At one point, I looked down, and thought my phone was ALREADY cracked, and had a broken camera with spiderweb cracks, and then my panic subsided when I realized it was just the reflection of the umbrella above me. Irritation turns into humor pretty quickly when that happens.

Pineapple Tour
Was on my way to the pineapple tour, when I got a call telling me it was cancelled due to all the rain (to let the fields not get trampled by people). No biggie, I just rescheduled for tomorrow since I had a gap in between my snorkeling tours tomorrow anyway.
More reinforcements
Was chatting with Nate and mom about stuff that they forgot to bring to the ship and mom needed a brush, and if there’s anything I’ve learned over all my years on this tiny marble, it’s to not assume anything about people’s own haircare and preferences, so I asked which one she wanted / what style type.
All I got back was “any brush will do”.

So of course, I just picked the most ridiculous one I could find…and I’ll hear no complaints.

Entertainment
With my extra time, I was really craving some popcorn, and found a theater nearby, so went to see “The Beekeeper” and enjoyed some popcorn for awhile before heading to my camper site for the night.
