Another cruising day to rest and recover from all the activities in Peru. Some normal life things that popped up that needed to be taken care of today.
It’s Time
Been putting it off for quite awhile, and thought I would’ve recycled my oofos a lot earlier than this, but the last couple days have been particularly bad and slippery on some of the wet roads and pool decks. I haven’t really had any tread left on my current oofos for about 2 months, but have been too lazy to literally reach under the bed for the new pair of oofos I brought with me.
It was long overdue, but finally pulled out the new pair and was….not surprised, but made me chuckle a little (cause it was so ridiculous) as to how much difference there was in cushion between the old and new pair. There’s a visible difference in height.
Catching Up
Yesterday, I got through all the pictures, today, I set out to catch up on this blog. Got all three days in Peru done, and the cruising day yesterday, and am officially all caught up now.
Got this all done in a couple spots on the ship enjoying the views and the breeze as we slowly cruise our way north to central america.
Got another lovely sunset as I finished up the blog writing.
Potential Collab
Met with another photographer onboard about a potential collab. Would be pretty cool, so stay tuned :D.
Disaster?
About midway through the day (my day, not the actual day…it was probably around 4pm), I noticed that my phone wasn’t showing anything, even though it was responding with vibrations to my touch. After a bunch of trial and error, I discovered that the front screen still works fine, but the inside screen is not turning on (or rather, it turns off) past a certain angle when opening the phone. SIGH.
Good thing I have the support through Best Buy, but also I’m on a cruise and there aren’t many Best Buys on the Serenade. Spent the afternoon talking with support on where I should go and trying to make sure as much as possible that they’d have the right parts that they’d need to fix the screen. It’s really odd, cause the screen itself still works at anything less than like 85 degrees.
Have an appointment booked for when I do my little side trip in the states.
Food
Went down for dinner, and oh boy, they have wings. Didn’t want to pig out in the dining room, so got them to go for a late night snack.
Random Photo Stop
Obviously as I carry around my long lens, I like photography, so I’ve also made friends with the photographers on board. As I was returning from dinner through the gallery, I asked how much the crystal blocks were and found that they were under the amount of shipboard credit I have (that I need to use or lose). So I ended up ordering a crystal of one of the penguin pics I took. We’ll see how it turns out, but that feels like a fun use of my OBC since I don’t really use it for anything else.
Running Update
Got in a nice run outside. Very humid, but nice breeze as we’re slowly cruising our way up the coast. Shot some hoops afterwards cause the court was empty as well for a bit.
