Super nice day out on deck as we cruise towards Rio. Played with an intervalometer and getting ready for fireworks in a couple days. Pretty chill day.
Chill Day
Woke up late-ish after a late night, and started around noon. Finally left the stateroom and grabbed some starbucks and listened to a bit of music in the centrum before heading topside.
Super lovely day. It was nice and sunny, but not hot. Nice breeze, but not too windy. I ended up just squatting on a deck chair and finished loading pictures and getting it all caught up from the last 20 ish days.

Have really enjoyed working with pic-time to get the gallery up and running, so many customizable options, and the uploader is magical the way it uploads web resolution first to get the gallery up and does the high-res ones after in the background whenever your connection is up. I’ve been able to disconnect and connect over and over without being tied down to one particular spot.
Panoramic from Recife
Also got a bunch of the panoramas from Recife yesterday merged. Incredible views, and really enjoyed putting them together.
Sunset
Brought out my intervalometer and had to figure out how to use it (which was a little bit of a puzzle), and then also testing out my remote for fireworks settings for NYE in a couple days. All seems to be working fine, which was a fun little surprise (I’ve never used it before, even though I’ve had them for years sitting in my bag).
Food
Dinner was excellent. The appetizer
The mediterranean seafood salad was nice and fresh (love me some calimari), and the special (norwegian lamb stew) was SO good….brought me back to my time in Iceland going from airbnb to airbnb on farms and having fresh lamb stew. Finished it off with the pavlova and some ice cream.
Entertainment
Walked by the theater to the crew game show, and had a blast. Always hilarious to watch other people play charades (and not having to do it yourself). Crew is awesome, hilarious, and seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves as well, and some hilarious inside jokes now within the ship.
Seriously…trying to act out sexbomb in front of a crowd is hilarious, and makes me die a little inside thinking about having to do it (even though it wasn’t me).
Running Update
Ramping up, and I think I’m going to get an early start on Dopey and start tomorrow with the 5K, 10K after NYE celebration (hopefully people aren’t up for like…FOREVER), and then half and full on the two cruising days before one more rest day before Uruguay.
Got a nice run in today with the nice weather.
