I left Minnesota on the 29th and made my way down to Columbia for one last week of work, before my mini-retirement (ala Favre and Brady). Had a fantastic week just catching up with people and wrapping things up, in more ways than one, it felt like the ending of a chapter in my life.
My team surprised me with a going away Lotso, to take with me on my travels. Of course, we had to then make a stop down in Disney World (where I met up with a few friends for the festival going on at Epcot.
Lotso decided he needed his own instagram (https://www.instagram.com/lotso.travels/) for the world cruise (and other travels), so of course, we had to go take some photos as well.
Finally, yesterday, I made it down to Miami, turned in my luggage, and got one last use of my AMC A-List pass before I cancelled it. Was pleasantly surprised to find some branded goodies that started to get me into the mood, and then got more stuff at the pre-cruise gala this evening.
Definitely a little overwhelming to be around so many people (for my introvert heart), but also very exciting to be amidst the buzz. Met some fun people at my table at dinner, and I’m sure we’ll all see each other onboard.
Board the ship bright and early tomorrow morning! It’s finally here, and ready to see the world.
I’m thinking of the fortune that I’ve had in my wallet for (I think) 10 years….
Lastly, a vibe check for the day :).
- 3 parts joy
- 1 part disgust (people. extroverts.)
- 1 part fear (not really fear, but until Inside Out 2 comes out, I don’t think I can use anxiety yet :P)
P.S. Pretty sure 6 of the 8 (not counting the camera) are filled with all tech items 😀 (more to come on some of those things in future posts).
